Models & Dioramas

Only a scale model or diorama allows a litigator to overcome the frailty of man, poor memory, bad eyesight, tree and plant obstructions, architectural shortcomings, or deceptive security videos which lack detail and depth of field. Only a scale diorama offers a bird’s eye view, can be rotated, and have its lighting conditions changed instantly to simulate any time of day. Only a diorama can reposition vehicles on the fly in the courtroom, have scale human figures move about the scene or demonstrate the plausibility of “what-ifs” suggested by the opposing counsel. A diorama is a tool like no other as it can be changed instantly to support or destroy any narrative.

Medical Illustrations

The purpose of a medical illustration is to help the jury understand the injury or surgical procedure at issue in a case. The more lifelike or real an illustration appears, the more powerful it becomes as another tool in your litigator’s toolbox. While a realistic generic illustration of any part of the human anatomy could be used to depict a “normal” condition, only a custom medical illustration can truly impart the results of medical malfeasance. While a morbid or gruesome image would most certainly illicit requests by the opposing counsel to exclude an illustration, it is your right to have them entered into evidence as long as you can prove their relevance and substantiate through medical records the illustration as a true representation of the subject’s condition. Never underestimate the power of a demonstrative aid like a well-crafted medical illustration to outperform its probative value and become a moving visual appeal for sympathy.

Timelines & Charts

A “Timeline” is simply a chronology of the events which led all parties to the courtroom. In an age of information overload, a professionally designed timeline will help jury members keep track of the players, what, where, how and when, all valuable information during deliberations to determine who pays. “You can’t tell who the players are without a program”, the timeline is the program. Legal Services Limited has designed programs as simple a two-foot by three-foot poster, and as mind-blowing as one example when completely unfurled was four feet by sixteen feet long. They can be as simple and names and dates, but can also display relevant quotes, financial values, personnel changes, travel dates, locations and much more. Timelines are especially useful when used to show a pattern of behavior that repeats over time, eliminating the common lame excuses such as,” the defendant’s action was a rarity.”

Let Legal Services Limited design your timeline to include every known contingency except the verdict.

Anatomical Models

lifesize anatomical modelsUnlike a medical illustration, an anatomical model is a three-dimensional representation of a part of a human body, one which can be touched and passed around for personal inspection. These are most effective when shown with introduced medical devices or organs (i.e. knee & hip replacements, heart valves, transplants). In that most jurors are not medical experts, anatomical models serve to educate and inform so as to form a foundation which can be a basis for determining what is reasonable and what may not be reasonable.

Human models may also be used to demonstrate cuts, bullet wounds, compound fractures and other maladies which may be at issue in your case. Anatomical Models are yet another tool in your litigator’s toolbox which can far outperform their probative value, eliciting shock, awe, disgust, and sympathy.
